Burnham is the heretofore unmentioned adopted daughter of Sarek of Vulcan James Frain, who is the father of Spock. Discovery also co stars Michelle Yeoh as Captain Philippa Georgiou, commander of the Starship Shenzhou, and Jason Isaacs as Captain Gabriel Lorca, commander of the Starship Discovery. The Klingons will prominently feature in Discovery, and the series will reportedly explore the cold war between a re imagined Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets.
