You would think I might know more about Hoonigan as I went to their launch party back in 2. It was incredible. Hoonigan throws the best parties in the automotive world. The second year we partied at the Global Rallycross Track complete with drifting, burnouts and kegs of PBR: So you could see how I thought Hoonigan just threw parties and sold apparel.

Plus I wasn’t really into drifting. I have huge respect for drift, but I never identified with past Hoonigan drivers like Chris Forsberg and Ryan Teurck. They’re outstanding drivers, but I don’t wear skinny jeans, black hats, and my cars aren’t powered by Ferrari. I love it all, I just never identified with their racers other than Block. Then I got a text from Brian Scotto asking if I wanted to come by and work on a car at their shop.

I had a beer or seven with Hoonigan as well, just waiting on the edit which might take a while because I drank a lot and told a lot of stories. The camera ran out of battery I told so many stories.

See what I mean? Hoonigan isn’t whatever I thought it was. Look at the gasser on the lift behind Farah. Look at the lift! You don’t need that for T shirts. Something has changed at Hoonigan and its now my favorite You.

Tube channel. I occasionally find myself watching the latest episode a few minutes after it comes out. I also bought a Hoonigan t- shirt last month, so maybe the whole things really does work. Their hands are dirty and they’re having fun with their friends while playing with cars. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?

Even The MSR Houston Track Wasn’t Safe From Hurricane Harvey. Here’s a look at MSR Houston from this week, a road course south of the city that has hosted most of the 2. Hours of Lemons races I’ve done.

Much of it is underwater. While getting to the track is one of the lowest priorities right now—far below making sure everyone in the area is safe and has access to basic needs—this is yet another example of how bad the flooding is in southeast Texas. As you can see from this view from the start/finish tower at MSR Houston, the land around it is very flat with few true low spots to fill up in the event of a major flood. The latest update from the track on Tuesday says that while the pond on- site has taken over their trailer lot, the main garage buildings that house members’ cars and even race teams and driving schools are safe for now: Friends, First and foremost, we hope that you and your family are safe. We surveyed the track again yesterday evening, and we have made the decision to close the facility until further notice due to flood waters. Please be aware that water has not made it in to any of the main garage buildings. The trailer lot is now an extension of the front lake. Parts of the road course and karting track are under multiple inches of water as well.

At this point in time, it is not safe to allow anyone access to the facility.
